Poor implementation of laws worries Osun Assembly

Osogbo—The Osun State House of Assembly has expressed worry over the poor level of implementation of the laws being passed by houses of assembly in the country.

Speaker of the Assembly, Najeem Salaam stated this at a two-day training workshop on legislative practice and procedure organised for members of the Assembly at Ijebu-jesa Monday, saying, it was only the laws that the executives were interested in that they properly implemented.

The speaker in a statement signed by the Chairman, Committee on Information and Strategy, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, said it was very unfortunate that there were several bills that could improve the economy of the states and the federation at large which had been passed, but poorly implemented or not implemented at all.

The speaker, however, stressed that the Assembly would ensure that a realistic budget was approved.
