BENIN—GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, yesterday, described the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli, as a man blessed with uncommon humility and prayed God to continue to give him the wisdom to pilot the affairs of his kingdom.
Oshiomhole, when the Olu and his chiefs paid him a visit at Government House, Benin City, congratulated the Olu on his recent coronation, saying that the nation will benefit from his wisdom in ensuring peace and unity among Nigerians.
He said: “I should have been the one to come to Warri and visit you at your palace but you chose to come to my office. That shows your uncommon humility. I was at your installation because I felt I must fulfil that assignment. I had no choice at all, particularly when you look at the history between Edo and Delta states.
“We are all one family and I thank God for what he has used you to achieve for our people. We pray that God will continue to strengthen you and give you the wisdom to pilot the affairs of your community to an enviable height. I congratulate you once again on your installation,”
Ogiame, who spoke earlier, told the governor that he came to express his gratitude for the governor’s presence at his installation. “I have paid similar visit to Lagos State governor and other governors because it is not easy for you to abandon you busy schedule to attend the occasion.
“I want to thank you for the assistance you have been rendering to Itsekiri sons and daughters resident in Edo State and I appeal to you to continue to accommodate all Itsekiri sons and daughters resident here as you have always done.”
