TRUE to their pre-match boast, Chevron Basketball team yesterday demolished their NCDMB counterparts 49-12 in a one-sided basketball match of the ongoing 2016 Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry Games.

The match which held at the Chevron Recreation Centre, Gbagada saw the Chevron team take an early lead and dominated their opponents in all the quarters.

With this result, Chevron topped Group A with maximum points. Other teams in the group include Chevron, Shell and NCDMB. Total fell to Shell 21-29 to qualify for the semi final as Group A runners up.

The first two placed teams in each group play in the semi finals which will see group A winners against group B runners up and B winners taking up Group A runners up.

Meanwhile the final of the squash events comes up today at the squash courts of Ikoyi Club 1938. In the ladies singles, it will be an all NNPC affair, as Kate Ezeanya who won gold in the women’s veteran category will clash with Mrs Atinuke also of NNPC in the epic final.

Ezeanya ranked number one seed is the clear favourite for the title. But against Atinuke, who is seeded 2nd, it is hard to predict. “When we get to then we will know who is the better between us,”Ezeanya told our reporter yesterday.
