OMOKU — MORE than two weeks after members of the Icelanders cult group butchered four brothers at Omoku community, Ogba/Ndoni/Egbema Local Government Area, ONELGA, Rivers State, the group has refused to release the heads of Felix Phillip and Daniel, who they beheaded in the bloody invasion.
The four brothers, 15-year-old Senior Secondary School, SSS 2 student, Chisom Udoh, 23-year-old Christian, Felix Philip, a second year NCE student at Federal Government College, Omoku, aspiring to be an education administrator and Daniel, preparing to write WAEC and UTME examinations, were all killed in the same room.
The cultists vanished with their heads after the gory incident and until date, there is no news on the whereabouts of the two heads.
Tears have not ceased dropping in the family Area since the rampaging cultists ruptured the peace in the home and community.
Narrating the ordeal of the family, Victor Kelvin, who the deceased persons were residing in his apartment before the agonizing incident, said, “They killed Felix and Daniel, beheaded them and made away with their heads. That is wickedness on little innocent boys.”
“I was just lucky enough that I went for a vigil that night when these boys broke into our room, but they killed my four brothers, they killed them.”
“The family has been in sorrow because it is a strange occurrence, the cultists are such heartless to want to clear a family even when the family did not commit anything,” he lamented.
Going spiritual, he asserted, “There is God, I believe that the people, who are behind this will not go unpunished. My brothers do not belong to any political party or cult group.”
“I was in the church praying and I never knew that gunmen have entered our house and killed my four cousins.
“They usually follow me to church for vigil because our church holds vigil every Friday. However, that Friday, they did not follow me. If I knew that gunmen would kill them, I would have forced them to follow me,” Kelvin said despondently.
His words: “The four boys aspired to be great in their lives , but did not know that they will not make it to old age.”
“Posterity will surely be the judge. The killers of my four brothers should enjoy now, but soon God will punish them for taken the life of my innocent relatives. Their blood is crying seriously to God for judgment.
He stated: “Since the dastard killings, things have not really gone well with the family, we are in deep pain and it is only God that is our help and solace.”
Last week, the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, visited the troubled ONELGA, where he regretted the killings, and urged residents to be calm, as security agents hunt for the culprits.
Two days later, the military paraded seven suspects arrested in connection with killings in Omoku.
Commander of 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Brig.-Gen. Stevenson Olabanji, told reporters that the culprits in the recent killings in Omoku community have been arrested.
Olabanji disclosed that soldiers have recovered the car used by the suspects during the crime, saying they have provided useful information to security agents.
