The predominant patrons of Nigeria’s BDCs are predominantly, smugglers of unauthorised items, treasury looters, and others who cannot process formal documentation to access official foreign exchange. Curiously, the CBN’s formal policy to sell $400,000 weekly to each BDC translates to $1.6bn, for 1000 BDCs monthly.

WIG faults Urhobo DESOPADEC commissioners’ oil production claim

Warri Interest Group, WIG, in Warri, Delta State, weekend, challenged the comment by the commissioners representing oil-bearing communities of Urhobo ethnic nationality in the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, that they produce more oil and gas than Itsekiri, Ijaw and other ethnic nationalities in the state.

Nigeria to commence 24 hours trading settlement cycle

For the first time in the history of any capital market in Africa, Nigeria is set to commence 24 hours trading settlement circle, even as investors in the Nigerian Capital market are now to get dividend payment within 24 hours through the e-Dividend Payment Platform. Director General of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Mounir Gwarzo made this disclosure at the e-Dividend Sensitisation Town Hall Meeting in Lagos.

Kaduna appoints Skambo new Basketball boss

The Kaduna State Commissioner of Youth, Sports and Culture, Hon. Daniel Danauta has appointed former Nigerian International, Pastor Skambo Morrison Dilli the new Chairman of the State’s Basketball Association.
The appointment which took effect from January 20, 2016, is for a period of three years, a letter conveying the appointment and signed on behalf of the Commissioner by Muhammad Tajuddeen read.

Be it in Art or in any other fields, there are some simple rules of success which are no secrets. One of the rules or principles of success is to seek to bring out the best in others by helping and empowering them in order that we may be empowered. Thus, in empowering others, I too have been empowered from various sources.
The second rule is practise, practise, practise! By practising regularly, I have been able to hone my skills and gain recognition and visibility in a male-dominated business.

Tragedy struck, Friday, afternoon when a Sports Utility Vehicle, SUV, rammed into a large crowd of Muslim faithful, who where observing Jumat service, killing three people and injuring several others at Ajeromi/Ifelodun Local Government council premises, at about 1:45p.m.
