Akure—NO fewer than 26 projects are to be commissioned by Governor Olusegun Mimiko to mark the 40th anniversary of the state and his administration’s seventh year.
Also, a former United States of America Envoy to Nigeria, Ambassador Walter Carrington is billed to deliver a public lecture to mark the anniversaries.
The chairman of the planning committee Mr Akin Adaramola and the Information Commissioner Kayode Akinmade said this at a press conference to herald the anniversaries.
Mimiko
Adaramola said that the public lecture will hold on Thursday 25th at the international and Cultural Event Centre, the Dome in Akure.
The chairman said that the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko will criss cross the three senatorial districts of the state to commission the projects and inspect others on Tuesday 9 through Monday 22.
Governor Mimiko is to also hold a special interactive session with Special interests groups while the governor will make a special broadcast to the people of the state.
Other programmes to mark the anniversaries include a photo exhibition to rekindle the nostalgic experience of the past as it links with the present both for elders, adults and younger generation.
The commissioner pointed out that the photo exhibition will” equally tell the story of our strides, leadership succession, trajectory of development, political emancipation, socio-economic transformation and the links.
Wife of the Governor Oluwakemi Mimiko will be visiting people with special needs on February 22 while a special women’s programme tagged “Gbebiro” will hold on the 23 February.
A Jumat service will hold on February 26 at the Central Mosque, Akure.
