KANO – It was a tragic end for Kabir Umar Gumel who was slaughtered by unknown assailants in his Yakasai residence, Kano municipal Saturday barely five days after he was declared missing by the family.

Family sources told Vanguard that the middle aged man was declared missing by his family last Wednesday following sudden disappearance from public view.

Sponsored announcement through selected radio stations on his disappearance lead to apprehension among family members.

A family member who does not want his name revealed said that things came to a climax Saturday during a wedding Fatiha hosted by the family when a search team was directed to check his isolated apartment within the family compound.

The source explained that the search team by scaling the face gained entrance into late Gumel’s apartment which locked from within.

He said “the search team were shocked when they discovered that Gumel was slaughtered” and the corpse was decomposing.

According to the family source, the incident was promptly reported to the police who arrived in good time.

Confirming the incident, the Kano police Image Maker, DSP Magaji Musa Majia said that full investigation had since commenced to unravelled the mystery.

He assured that police would leave no stone unturned to ascertained the hidden facts as well as those behind the dastardly act.
