Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has described Senator David Mark as the centre of unity between the North and southern part of Nigeria.

Sen. David Mark voting during the rerun election for Benue South Senatorial District election on Saturday, February 20, 2016.

Onuesoke made this remark in Otukpo, Benue State while commending Senator David Mark on his weekend victory at the Benue South Senatorial district re-run election.

Onuesoke, who was present at Otukpo to observe the election as a director, NETWORK FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE (n4gg) said the choice of David Mark by the electorates was the right thing in the right direction because the National Assembly of today needs the experience of leaders like David Mark.

He said the victory of David Mark was known to so many of them right from the beginning of the race going by his outstanding performance as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing not just Benue South, but Nigeria as a whole.

“It’s to your credit that today Nigeria remains a united country. We must not forget in a hurry the principle of the doctrine of necessity you invoked that keeps Nigeria united till date. In summary, your outstanding performance rather earned you enemies both within and without with the resultant consequence of your people identifying with you the more,” Onuesoke noted.

He maintained that PDP victory in Benue South Senatorial district is a signal that the party would clear the ballot papers both at the state and the federal level in 2019 general election.
