A group known as Children with Cancer Intervention Initiative, CCII, has called on Nigerians to take their nutrition and diet very seriously, noting that most of the imported fruits and vegetables consumed are massively produced with chemicals.
CCII further called on President Muhammadu Buhari to protect the Nigerian environment by bringing back War Against Indiscipline (WAI).
Coordinator of CCII, Mrs Honor Onyebuchukwu, who spoke in Lagos to celebrate the World Cancer Day, pointed out that the Nigerian environment is highly polluted with toxics.
“How do we explain the fact that drainages/gutters right in front of companies/factories and homes are filled with empty cans, plastic bottles, nylon bags and sand, among other things and no one seem to be doing anything about it?
Men and women defecate and pass urine on the road indiscriminately and this is unchecked,” she said.
