KOGI POLL: Ad-hoc staff tackle INEC over service fees

Lokoja—13,000 ad-hoc staff that participated in the November 21, 2015 Kogi state governorship election and the December 5th supplementary election yesterday staged a protest over the inability of the Independent National Electoral Commission to pay them.

During a protest march to the NUJ secretariat in Lokoja, the ad-hoc staff in their hundreds said they are tired of the series of lies and deceits they have received from those who are supposed to pay them their claims which they said is over N227 million.

The protesters who presented a copy of their protest letters addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari to newsmen said, they have over the past six weeks after the election spent numerous nights at the State INEC headquarters waiting to be paid; only for the management to postpone the pay day.
