Oil crash: OPEC ready to negotiate with other producers

Oil producers’ cartel, Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, has expressed a willingness to enter into dialogue with other global producers in a bid to salvage the continued fall in oil prices. OPEC, which accounts for 40 percent of global oil supply, however, reiterated that such discussions will be on its terms, as it “will protect its own interests,” since “the international oil market, which involves many vested interests (are also) looking to defend their respective positions.”
