Lagos to enforce restriction law on articulated vehicles
lagos—The Lagos State Government says it will henceforth impound, any articulated vehicle which driver contravenes the State Road Traffic Law 2012. The government also added that it will restrict them from plying the metropolis between the hours of 6am to 9pm. Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Oluseyi Whenu, stated that the measure became necessary following incessant auto accidents of articulated vehicles, especially, the fatal accident at Ojuelegba, Surulere Local Government Area, involving a container-laden trailer on September 2.
Nigerian cashew processors operating below installed capacity
Nigerian cashew processors are operating below 30 per cent of their combined installed capacity of 48,000 tonnes, according to an official of the umbrella association for the crop. Mr Sotonye Anga, the National Publicity Secretary of the National Cashew Association of Nigeria (NCAN), disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

Only professionals should carry out insurance business – NAICOM
The National Insurance Commission, NAICOM, has charged insurance operators to ensure that only professionals are allowed to carry out the business of insurance. Commissioner for Insurance and Chief Executive of the National Insurance Commission, NAICOM, Mr. Mohammed Kari, who gave the charge, noted that the influx of non professionals into the insurance industry is denting the image of the sector. Kari who spoke in Lagos regretted that the insurance profession is the most bastardised because operators have allowed all manner of non professionals to penetrate the sector.
