BY its admission, more than one million permanent voters’ cards have been stolen from the Indepen-dent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which prefaces this story with the trite line that the cards are useless since only their authentic owners could use them. INEC should get wiser as the thefts continue.

Imo State government has said that contrary to the N175.034 billion said to have accrued to the 27 local council areas of the state between May 2011 and December 2014, heavy deductions were usually made at source before remittance.

LAGOS — The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, yesterday directed banks to close all revenue accounts belonging to Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, of the Federal Government, as mandated under the revenue electronic collection (e-collection) scheme.

He said: “I know the man who started it all and I know the one that took N200,000 from my pocket. We cannot continue to live in this kind of country. Justice must be done.”
