Jega, Oloyede, others for 10th Wole Soyinka Awards

Attahiru Jega, erstwhile Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Professor of Political Science, who played an outstanding role in the success of the 2015 elections and veteran broadcaster, Bimbo Oloyede, will be honoured with the Anti-Corruption Defender Award and the Lifetime Award for Journalistic Excellence, respectively, at the decade anniversary of the Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting, scheduled for Wednesday 9 December, 2015 by 5pm at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

Two FIFA vice presidents arrested

Swiss authorities said FIFA Vice Presidents, Juan Angel Napout and Alfredo Hawit were arrested on Thursday in a pre-dawn raid at a Zurich hotel where several others were taken into custody in late May. The Swiss Federal Office of Justice (FOJ), said the arrests were carried out by Swiss authorities in the context of a U.S.-led investigation on charges of racketeering, money laundering and fraud.

A High Court in Lugbe, FCT, has fixed Dec. 15 for definite hearing in a suit filed by Andikan Resources Limited against FCT Minister and two others over alleged unlawful demolition of its estate. Justice Angela Otaluka fixed the date following the absence of the respondents and their lawyers in court on Thursday.
