OSOGBO—The new Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, last night unveiled a multi-billion naira Ife Grand Resort and Leisure outfit as part of the activities marking the presentation of staff of office to him today.

Located on Ibadan-Ife express road, the project along with the sports academy, also expected to be unveiled during the week, are some of the plans of the new Ooni to boost youth employment in the community.

He was accompanied to the event by Ife traditional chiefs who wore white regalia and residents of the town who also witnessed the event in their hundreds.

Also present at the occasion were the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, Dein of Agbor, Managing Director of the First Bank, Bisi Onasanya, Obasewa of Ife, Chief John Agboola Odeyemi, Chief Balogun of Ife, Chief Bisi Omidiora, Oba Adagba of Iyanfoworogi, Oba Adebolu Fatunmise, President of Ife Development Board, Prof. Muib Opeloye and a host of others.

There was heavy security provided by regular and mobile policemen, while officers from military and para-military agencies were also in the town in their hundreds to maintain peace.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps were also on ground to ensure that traffic  flowed smoothly.
