Lagos—Lawmakers in the Lagos State House of Assembly yesterday, confirmed the nomination of Mr. Oye Hassan Odukale as chairman of the Board of Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF.

In his response during the confirmation exercise,  Odukale said, he was surprised that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode nominated him for the post.

Odukale, who is currently the Managing Director of Leadway Assurance Plc, said, he will raise money for the trust fund through the private sector and that his company has contributed immensely to the fund in the past.

According to him, the board of LSSTF has eight members, and the fund is meant to equip all security agencies such as the police, army and the Department of State Security Service, DSS.

The Speaker, Mr. Mudashiru Obasa subsequently directed the Clerk of the House, Mr. Segun Abiru to inform the governor of the confirmation.
