Akure—THE Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, yesterday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to wade into the crisis rocking the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Imo state, MOUAU, to save it from total collapse.

Coordinator of the union,Akure Zone Dr. Alex Odiyi made the call in Akure.

According to him; “The union is of the opinion that Prof. Edeoga is acting as one bereft of knowledge of the rules and regulations governing the university or is above the law

“Under his leadership, the university has lost direction and is totally deviating from the vision of its founding fathers.

“It is disheartening to observe that the Governing council of the university has not been alive to its responsibility.”

The leadership of the union in the zone which include leaders from Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and Ekiti State University (EKSU) called for the halt of the “reign of terror and arbitrariness”
