Accidents: FRSC debunks ember months myth

By Chimaobi Nwaiwu

The Anambra Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mr.  Sunday  Ajayi, has debunked the myth attributing accidents during ember months  to demonic attacks on roads.

Ajayi told newsmen in Onitsha, yesterday, that ember months  as season of bountiful business harvests, Christmas and New  Year celebrations, leads to increase in vehicular movements and possible road accidents.

“Available experience of the FRSC shows that the myth attributing accidents to demonic attacks on roads during ember months was untrue. People are not careful while driving. Some do not observe road signs and turn blind eyes and deaf ears to important cautions.

“Most road crashes during the periods are attributable to human errors and faults, a fall-out of motorists not abiding faithfully to road traffic laws.”
