UMUAHIA—A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain and former assistant to Dr Alex Ekwueme, Mr. Ben Onyechere, has said that the dream by All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, candidate of winning the governorship election in Abia was a dummy packaged and sold to him by a few people whose objective was to obtain his money by tricks.
According to him, he became over obsessed because of his financial clout and refused to listen to wise counsel from major stakeholders not to bother this time around because it was already too late.
His words: “One thing is for sure, which is the fact that I can talk to the Chairman of Diamond Bank, who incidentally is my relation to reabsorb him in the bank such that he will have soft landing, but in any case, he should stop blaming anybody let alone the tribunal for his woes because his bruises are self inflicted.
“It is embarrassing to the people of Abia and unfortunate the extent to which he had believed the lie that Abia people could easily be bought, particularly after the concept of power shift had been muted and accepted by every segment of the society as a template for Abia politics.
“The attempt by APGA to guesting the veracity of the numerous developmental initiatives of the state governor is in fact pitiable and an indication that APGA’s intention is devoid of progress except to mortgage Abia to the banking industry.”
