WARRI—The five years old internal strife that had sectionalized the oil-rich community of Ugborodo in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has been resolved.

The reconciliation which took place at the Ode-Ugborodo town hall saw brothers formerly torn apart by internal feud gather for a meeting facilitated by Pa. J.O.S. Ayomike in company of two leaders of the town, Olaja-Orori Benson Omadeli and Eghare-Aja, Pa. Wellington Ojoghor.

The feud was caused by the factional groups jostling for the control of the resources accruing to the community which hosts Chevron tank farm and EPZ projects.

Pa. Ayomike called for unity amongst them so that they can, with one voice, fight for and demand legitimate rights from the companies operating in their area, stating that Chevron and other companies operating in Ugborodo were owing the community money running into several millions of naira.

Thanking Pa. Ayomike for the peace initiative, Ugborodo community leader, Mr. Isaac said, “The reconciliation meeting is the greatest thing that has happened to the community in recent years.”
