DR Congo head coach Florent Ibenge and his assistant Mwinyi Zahera will not be involved in Thursday’s friendly against Nigeria in Belgium.
Both coaches have stayed back in Kinshasa for a league clash between AS Vita (coached by Ibenge) and DC Motema Pembe (coached by Zahera).
Furthermore, the coaches are tasked with preparing the country’s team for a 2016 CHAN qualifier against Central African Republic.
It would be recalled that 53-year-old Ibenge made history when he led DRC to finish third at this year’s AFCON in Equatorial Guinea.
Former U23 coach Christian Nsengi and former U17 coach Eric Tshibasu have therefore been mandated by FECOFA to lead the Leopards against Nigeria on Thursday and against Gabon four days later.
