The Ijaw Monitoring Group, IMG, has described the late Boardroom Guru, Deacon Gamaliel Onosode, as global icon by all standards.
A tribute by Comrade Joseph Evah, on behalf of the Ijaw, stated that Deacon Onosode’s death was “shocking and painful because he was one of the few stars that gave hope to the Niger Delta in particular and Nigeria at large.”
“We are proud that the Urhobo gave us a son that no president or head of state in Africa ever ignored in his lifetime.
“The history of Africa’s industrial growth cannot be complete without mentioning the name of Gamalie Onosode. H, as a world-class citizen, further proved to the world that Niger Delta is blessed with both oil and human resources.
“We urge the Delta State government to name the Industrial Park, Warri, after the late business icon, and also demand that the Federal Government names Abuja Stock Exchange Building after the Urhobo born Mr. Integrity in Business.
“For his selfless service to the nation, Lagos State where Onosode’s contributions influenced the growth of business of the state to the highest level, should also accord him special landmark recognition.”
