FRCN boss counsels media professionals on ethics

LAGOS—MEDIA practitioners have been advised to place professional ethics above any other consideration, to serve the society better.

The Director-General of Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Dr. Muhammad Salihu, who gave the advice at FRCN Awards celebration weekend in Lagos, contended that the society expected media professionals to be above board to educate, inform and entertain effectively.

Addressing the recipients, he said, “I am very impressed, very proud of  my colleagues whenever somebody that won was called and that tells you that we are on the right track.

‘’As a management, we are going to stick to the best for Nigerians and we will continue to motivate the staff. We will continue to inspire them to achieve  greater heights.”

20 staff of corporation received various awards including Humphrey Moses (Presenter of the Year), Femi Farawe (Sportscaster of the Year), Akintunde Oluronke (Newscaster of the Year), Roseline Babs-Jonah (Veteran Presenter- Female), Ajani Tajudeen (Veteran Presenter- Male), Nnamdi Ezeokoye (Producer of the Year) and Elizabeth Anyanwu (Reporter of the Year).

Earlier, FRCN- Director Lagos Operations, DLO, Mr Ike Okere, said winners of the various awards were thoroughly examined and justified by internal and external judges as the best among other entries.
