Lagos- The Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace, Alfred Adewale Martins, has condemned the recent twin suicide bombing attacks in Kuje and Nyanya, Abuja, saying the security agencies should put in more efforts to forestalling such incidents before they happen.

He condemned the attacks during the commissioning of a parish house at St Christopher’s Catholic Church, Oke Odo, Lagos.

Speaking to newsmen, Bishop Martins said: “It is very distressing to hear that Boko Haram sects continue to bomb places, killing a large number of people, injuring and displacing many. The insurgents are coming up stronger again and this is disturbing.

“We pray for the repose of the souls who have died and those that the deceased left behind. The federal government should ensure that the families of the victims are taken care of,” he advised.

The Bishop, however, urged Nigerian leaders to recognize the fact that the leadership position they occupy is by the grace of God, adding that “If they perform well, they will not only receive the blessings of human beings but also the blessings of God. They should begin to put more efforts and care for the welfare of the people.”
