ASABA—Michael Tidi, Special Assistant on News Media to Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has insisted that contrary to the online submissions of National Coordinator of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, Sherrif Mulade, “Governor Okowa is not preparing for any envisaged governorship rerun election but is entirely focused on delivering on his mandate to the satisfaction of all Deltans for the next four years preparatory to 2019.”

In a statement made available to newsmen yesterday in Asaba, Tidi submitted that “Governor Okowa’s one and only concern both now and going forward is the welfare of all Deltans by diligently implementing his S.M.A.R.T. agenda of wealth creation and holistic development in tandem with the Prosperity for all Deltans mantra of this administration.”

According to Tidi, “Comrade Mulade’s allegation that the administration has been making secret appointments is completely laughable. In the first place no appointment can be secret as every appointment is easily verifiable.”

Tidi further asserted that “Mulade’s insinuation of ethnic coloration of his phantom secret appointments” are without basis, wondering, about the statistics Mulade had relied on for “his completely wild allegations.”

He said: “Appointments are a matter of public record and what Governor Okowa has constituted is a team to deliver on the expectations of Deltans rather than one put together in anticipation of Mulade’s hoped for rerun.”
