God of Creation still creates

Jesus on the cross

By Funmi Komolafe

In this week’s Joyful Homes, I bring to your  practical examples of people who have had breakthroughs in the area of child bearing. These are recent examples  in Nigeria and overseas.

LET me first of all congratulate you for being alive. That you are alive and waiting is an indication that, that thing you most desire – children –  is still possible. As  it is often said, only the dead have no hope.

Recent events have rekindled our hope that the God of Creation is still in the business of creating.

Since the beginning of this year, I have seen and heard of astonishing miracles of God in the area of child bearing.

Once again, I am not limiting readers to any particular place of worship. One is merely sharing experience.

Please feel free to share yours with our readers.

For waiting couples, there are times they feel depressed or even rejected by people.

Irrespective of what medical science may have attributed the delay to, it is wrong to blame your spouse for the delay.

Unknown to both of you, it could be a  spiritual problem.

A couple, in their bid to have children, went to a reputable gyneacologist for artificial insemination.

Shortly after, they experienced signs of pregnancy. They returned to the doctor who,  after consultation,  told them that yes, the signs were there, but that no implantation had taken place in the woman. In other words, the womb was empty.

Immediately, the couple realised they had a  spiritual problem.

When a partner is low in spirit, let the other encourage.

Let’s always bear it in mind that the God of Creation  still creates.

Recently, a couple presented a set of twins for dedication at Laughter Foundation  Christian Ministry, Lagos after 13 years of waiting. They confirmed they had seen a number of medical practitioners who attributed the delay to low sperm count.

There is also the case of a man who had a surgical operation  meant to improve his low sperm count. For years, no conception took place until God intervened. The man took no medication and the wife conceived and had a baby boy. They have since had other children.

How do we explain this? Could low sperm count have been corrected on its own? Not likely. The couple attribute their breakthrough to prayers and faith.

Another example of the power of the God who creates is the case of a woman who lost her ovaries to surgical operation. She persisted in prayers and, before long, God created new ovaries in her and she had a baby girl.

This was after she had been told that it was impossible for her to be a biological mother.

Her story is not too different from that of a lady who had a baby after 11 years of waiting. In the case of this lady, she had the misfortune of experiencing five miscarriages. Persistent prayer also gave her a breakthrough.

Let me dismiss as untrue the assertion in some quarters that some women are not biological mothers because they don’t love children.

Nothing can be farther from the truth.

It is true though that a woman waiting is not excited sometimes when she meets children.

This is natural because it reminds her of her condition.

How to handle loneliness

Couples may need to have a quiet  time, be relaxed and have a heart-to-heart discussion of the matter.

More importantly, when the spirit of a spouse is low, let the other encourage.

Both must find time to pray together.

Take steps to renew your relationship. Couples must not lose sight of the fact that all relationships have one challenge or the other.

Men of God always remind us that “ every challenge has an expiry date”.  Our duty is to take the right steps to put the challenge behind us.

Couples must resolve to stay together.

Being alive gives hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Many who have been written off have become mothers,

Those who find it difficult to cope with loneliness may opt for adoption, but this must be done legally.

Believe God, get your miracle

A couple that had been married for seven years visited a number of hospitals and were told that the husband had low sperm count and the wife multiple fibroids.  Exercising their faith, they resolved to take their case to God with prayers at Laughter Foundation Christian Ministry.

God visited them and, now, this couple, who got married in 2008, had a set of twins this year.

The story of  a lady I will simply call Biodun should encourage many women.

During her search for  children, she lost one of  her ovaries and had to depend on one ovary to have children.

At that time, she thought it would be a miracle for her to have even a child but God surprised her, she had a set of twins.

There is also the case of  a waiting couple, who sought medical advice, and they were told that the quality of the woman’s eggswas so bad  it could hardly make babies.

Her husband told the doctor that he was not discouraged and that he had faith that his wife would still be a mother.  The doctor will have none of that; he shouted at him, “ We don’t use faith here”.

The husband left the clinic unhappy but resolved to exercise his faith.

The point to be noted here is that rather than blame his wife, he encouraged her.

This should be the attitude of couples towards each other.

Finally, after about seven years of waiting, the woman, whose eggs were said to be too weak to make babies, is now a mother of a baby boy.

Several testimonies abound, but those who must have a breakthrough need to get serious with prayers.

Not a few women have had children well past the age of menopause.

If you think  it is impossible to have children late, wait for this one which was recorded in Germany:  A

65-year-old  mum of 13 children  is expecting quadruplets.

A newspaper, Bild am Sonntage, reported: “A  65-yr-old German grandmother is reportedly pregnant with quadruplets. Annegret Raunigk, who has 13 children and seven grandchildren, decided to try for another child because her youngest daughter, who is nine, wanted a little brother or sister. The Russian and English teacher from Berlin, became pregnant after 18 months of artificial insemination.”.

She narrated her story.

She said, “ Certainly, that was a shock for me. After the doctor discovered there were four, I had to give it some thought to begin with”.

The lady, who also spoke to Luxembourg-based broadcaster RTL, was asked if she didn’t think she was too old to bring up four babies at a time.

Her reply: “ How does one have to be at 65? One must apparently always fit some clichés which I find rather tiring. I think, one must decide that for oneself”.
