
After months of planning and anticipation the FUTA FASHION SHOW glamorously took place at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA).
The fashion show was conceptualized by Akinwamide Nifemi of futatoday.com.
The buildup to show started with an equally innovative idea called Street Fashion Naija,where designers get to showcase their works around campus live.
Next was the pre-party and nominees party at Adesuper Hotels on the 24th of July 2015.
The Futa Fashion Show and Gala NIte started on a beautiful Friday on the 31st of July 2015 with guests, friends and well-wishers expectation in high level as the clock ticks towards the dot of 5’o clock in the evening and all awaiting what the first ever edition of a fashion show in FUTA would look like.
Before the clock ticks 5pm, there came the arrival of guests, fashionistas, organizers, protocols and others in charge of one thing or the other. Finishing touches were made to the event center and the models too were in preparation for the great event.
The event started with the opening of the red carpet with soft and unique live instrumentals being played at the background by a well-known band in FUTA and its environs called the band also gave a befitting mix of sounds throughout the show. After the chitchat with guests, coordinators, fashionist and nominees on the red carpet, the show started proper at the clock of 7pm with MC Edwin Paul taking the first part of the show as the anchorman before handling over to M.C. Rhelax who coordinated the later part of it.
During the show, jokes that made the seated guest almost tumbling over their chair were cracked by the M.C. (s), showcasing of designers wears made from different fabrics by various clothing groups like Tush clothings, Miki wears, Mz Rheea clothings and others were displayed by the models on the runway.
At the end of the show, awards were given for acknowledgment of those with distinguishable features and contribution to the fashion world.
Telapink couture had the best female wardrobe stylist, Taylorz stichez as the emerging designer, Mz Reheea honored with Best female Custom Apparrel and 1703 clothings emerging as the winner of the Best Fashion Designer in FUTA 2015.
Closing remarks was given on behalf of the coordinators of the show by CEO Tush Clothings popularly known as ‘Tush’ to bring the show to a close at 10pm.
At his closing remarks, he mentioned that this will be a yearly event and may likely come twice in a year in the long run.
