Child trafficker escapes lynching in Delta

Irate villagers at Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State almost lynched a 26-year-old man from Atuma, Onuwa, who stole two children, aged four and three years, respectively, at the weekend.

The timely intervention of the Divisional Police Officer, Issele-Uku Division, who deployed a patrol team to the scene, saved the suspect.
The suspect reportedly lured the children and escaped with them.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the story, said the suspect was rescued and rushed to General Hospital, Issele-Uku for treatment.

She said: “The victims have been rescued and kept in protective custody, pending the arrival of their parents.”
