The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has made an important inroad in its effort to trace and bring to justice the former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform, Abdulrasheed Mainda.

THE Director-General of the National Institute of Legislative Studies, NILS, Ladi Hamalai, yesterday disclosed that the contractor handling construction of the N42 billion permanent site project of the Institute has abandoned the project due to paucity of fund.

The meeting of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC is about to commence. The meeting is the first since the landslide victory of the party in the last general elections that brought it to power both at the center and in 22 out of 36 States of the federation. The party had been enmeshed in crisis following the national assembly leadership on June 9. And every move by the national leadership of the party to resolve the crisis had apparently failed hence the NEC meeting.

ON June 23, the Central Bank of Nigeria released a circular titled: “Inclusion of Some Imported Goods and Services on the List of Items Not Valid for Foreign Exchange in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Markets,” and listed 41 items that can no longer be imported with foreign exchange sourced from the apex bank, deposit money banks, bureaux de change and other authorised sources.
