PORT HARCOURT—The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday, said it has uncovered plans by the Rivers State Government to formulate a false damaging report against former Governor Rotimi Amaechi of the state.

The party said that the cooked report was aimed at damaging the rising profile of Amaechi both within Nigeria and abroad.

In a statement by its publicity Secretary, Mr Chris Finebone, the party called on Nigerians to ignore such reports whenever they surface in the media.

He said: “The plan of Governor Nyesom Wike and some elements within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is to blackmail Amaechi and portray him as corrupt as well as putting him in bad light before the public.”
