MAIDUGURI — The Borno State Police Commissioner, Aderemi Opadokun, yesterday, confirmed that three suspected female suicide bombers were killed in Konduga Local Government Area of the state when their Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) detonated on their way to Maiduguri.
The commissioner who spoke with newsmen in Maiduguri said the bombers died Tuesday before they got to Maiduguri.
According to him, “three suspected female suicide bombers died in Konduga Local Government Area about 18 kilometres to Maiduguri on Tuesday when IEDs strapped to their bodies detonated on their way to Maiduguri. All the three suicide bombers were killed with no other casualty.”
He also confirmed another a blast at Tungushe Dogonwaya area along Baga/Monguno highway. He said: “At about 1530hrs on Tuesday explosions occurred at Tungushe Dogonwaya area along Baga/Monguno highway.” He however failed to give details.
