The Falcons came from behind three times to earn a valuable point and a chance to move to second round by snatching a draw from the fifth ranked team in the world.

“Prayer is the key for the Nigerian team. We praise God. That is the key. I thought in the first half we were the stronger team.”

“I feel OK after our first match. They expected to win, and at the end of the day we got a draw. Everything that happens ‘’na Godwin’’ an overjoyed Okon sang Korede Bello’s song.

Meanwhile Sweden coach Pia Sundhage said she was unhappy with the draw that seem to have put her team in tight spot ahead of their game against the USA. .

“We’re not happy that we gave up three goals, however, at the end of the day we got one point and there are good things to bring to the next game,” Sundhage said.

“The game plan was different than what you saw. Again, we got one point and next time, when we play the States, I hope we will follow the game plan.”

Nigeria face Australia in their next game on June 12 while Sweden will be eying their first win of the competition against former Champions, the United States of America.
