Oil marketing company, ConoilPlc, said it has placed orders for two new world-class, state-of-the-art bowsers to deepen its quality service delivery to domestic and international airlines operating in the nation’s airspace. The company said in a statement that the new bowsers have combined storage capacity of 62,000 liters and the ability to refuel aircraft at 1,500 liters per minute.
Conoilalso said that it has more presence at all the major gateways and airports in the country, rendering refueling services to major airlines and has fuelling facilities at major airfields across the country.
These include theMurtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos;NnamdiAzikiwe International Airport, Abuja; and Port Harcourt International Airport, Port Harcourt.Others are MallamAminu Kano Airport, Kaduna Airport, Enugu International Airport, Sokoto Airport, Yola Airport and Calabar Airport.
Manufactured by Flightline UK, the bowsers are said to have the latest technology certified by global aviation control bodies, the Joint Inspection Group, JIG, and the International Air Transport Association, IATA.
The manufacturers were quoted as saying that the bowsers were built with robust safety and interlocking monitoring systems and international standard filters. They are also said have the unique feature of ticket printer that indicates the volume of fuel pumped into an aircraft, thereby further enhancing the transparency and reliability of its service delivery.
With the acquisition of the bowsers, Conoil said its Jet A1/aviation fuel fueling capacity to local and international airlines has increased by 100 percent from 10 million liters to 20 million liters per month. The substantial increase in Jet A1 sales, it said, is projected to boost the company’s bottom-line by over 25 per cent over the next one year while also increasing significantly its industry share in the aviation fuel segment.
“This investment is a major plus for the Nigerian aviation industry and the economy in general because it makes the industry more robust by ensuring that more international airlines pick Nigeria as their final destination of choice to refuel,” the statement added.
