How sold out are you to God and His cause/plans? Jesus said in Luke 2:49,”And He said unto them, how is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my father’s business?”. The primary concern of Jesus even from a tender age was to do the will of God that sent Him. He was completely sold out to the will of the father. No wonder when the disciples came to Him to offer Him food in John chapter 4, He told them that food was not His priority rather His desire is to do the will of Him that sent Him and to finish it.

God made man and planted man in God’s garden to tend it. This implies that man’s primary assignment is to do the things of God. It is now time to have dedicated service and fellowship with God. It is time to seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto you (John 6:33). Beloved having a zealous heart for God is profitable to all. You cannot be zealous for God and your journey does not end gloriously. This is God’s plan. In Jer. 29:11, the bible says, for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you aan expected end”. You cannot love God and not excel in life.

In 1 Sam.17, Goliath was tormenting the covenanted people of God (the Isrealites) and challenging them to a battle for forty days. No one was willing to confront the enemy. Fear was in the isrealites camp. David heard about it and was willing to challenge goliath but his elder brother chose to intimidate him. David responded with the right attitude that gladdens my heart always. He said in vs. 29, “And David said, what have I now done? Is there not a cause? David was so zealous for God that no mountain was big enough to stop him. He always wanted the name of God to be glorified. He saw God first above every other thing. In 2 Sam 6, before the ark, as a king, David danced and danced and forgot about the fact that he was a king. He said God is the one that has made him who he was.

Abraham was a zealous lover of God. At age seventy five, he obeyed God and left his home and family to follow God. God instructed him to circumcise all the male children in his household which has never being done before and he obeyed even though it could lead to death because of the age of some of the men. No wonder God said of Abraham in Gen. 18, that He knows that Abraham shall command his children and household after Him (God). Abraham was instructed by God to sacrifice his only son whom he loved and Abraham said yes sir and obeyed. Abraham was so zealous for God that nothing else mattered. No wonder God chose him to be the father of nations.

The hotter your love for God, the higher you will fly. Joseph’s rising was incomparable. He loved God so much that even when he was opportune to comprise, he said, how can I do this great wickedness and sin against God (Gen. 39:9). Slavery did not devalue his worth. In prison God made him to prosper. In the palace he glorified the name of God. Beloved, let you love for God be so hot that the devil will not be able to thwart your rising. You will make it to the top. Whoever is mocking you today will soon see your awesome beauty.

Job was a man with great substance yet he feared God and eschewed evil. The devil attacked him and reduced him to absolute nothing yet job said, “though he slay me, yet will I trust Him: but I will maintain mine own ways before Him” (Job 13:15). His trust in God could not be broken. Even when his wife asked him to curse God and die he still believed that his redeemer liveth. The way you love God will show in how you fear Him.

It is not where you are but who you are that determines your result in life. What determines your marks on the earth is your heart for God. Your circumstances, career and profession is not what determines your height but your love for God.

Stop worshipping God with your lips while your heart is far from Him. The love of God is the source of real life. Let God be the first place in your life. Make God your reason for living and He will give your life what it deserves. The hotter the love, the faster the reaction. God did it for Abraham, Joseph, Job and He wants to do it with you.
