BENIN—THE Resident Electoral Commissioner in Edo State, Mr Mike Igini, yesterday, described as shocking and untrue, claims by some protesting ad hoc staff of the commission in the just concluded 2015 general elections, that they were short changed in the payment of their allowances.
Igini, who explained the official INEC payment guidelines to Vanguard, said the ad-hoc staff had since received their payment in full, adding that some of those fuelling the protest were people who are being investigated over alleged electoral malpractices during the March 28 presidential election.
He said: “It is simply unbelievable that a few people and academics for that matter would prefer to act on rumours or hear say.”
