Obasanjo tasks African leaders on provision of quality education

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday in Cotonou urged African nations to provide quality education to ensure peace and tolerance in the continent. Obasanjo made the call at the ongoing International Symposium for the launching of African Initiative for education, peace and development. He said without education, no peace effort would yield any positive result, adding that the most of the intolerant sections of the African society were illiterate.

El-Rufai appoints SSG, media aide

Ahead of his inauguration on Friday, Kaduna State Governor-elect, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai, has appointed Malam Balarabe Abbas-Lawal as Secretary to the State Government (SSG). A statement by his media aide, Samuel Aruwan, on Wednesday in Kaduna, also named Malam Salisu Suleiman as the El-Rufai’s Principal Private Secretary (PPS).

Gov. Amaechi urges incoming governors not to allow division in Governor’s Forum

Rivers Governor, Mr Chibuike Amaechi, on Wednesday urged incoming governors not to allow anybody to divide the Nigeria Governors Forum.
Amaechi made the call at a church service to mark his 50th birthday at Corpus Christi Cathedral, Port Harcourt. The governor said that the country began to have problems with the Federation account when the governor’s forum became divided. ‘’ May God bless all the governors. For the new ones coming in, please do not let anybody break the Nigeria Governors Forum.
