OSOGBO–Election  petition tribunal, sitting in Osogbo, Osun State capital, has received 16 petitions in connection with March 28 and April 11 National and State Assembly elections in the state.

Leading the pack of the petitioners is the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP senatorial candidate in Osun East, Chief Francis Fadahunsi, who is challenging the victory of the All Progressives Congress, APC’s Senator Babajide Omoworare.

While Fadahunsi is the only senatorial candidate that filed petition, two candidates of the House of Representatives have also filed their own separate petitions.

Kayode Oduoye of the PDP is challenging Yinka Ajayi of the APC,in Ifelodun/Odo-Otin/Boripe Federal Constituency.
Also, Nathaniel Agunbiade of APC is challenging the victory of PDP’s Oluwole Oke in Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency.

This is just as the secretary of the tribunal, Mr Abubakar Mohammed, hinted that the two APC candidates that lost the House of Assembly election in Osun State, have filed petition against the victory of PDP.

The two APC candidate lost their seats to Chief Makinde Oladejo of Ife Central and Akinwole Akinwale of Ife East state constituency.
Sijuwade Adetilewa of APC challenged the victory of Chief Makinde Oladejo of PDP, saying the election was rigged in favour of PDP, while Basiru Adeyela challenged Akinwole Akinwale in Ife East.

However, 9 candidates of PDP have also filed petition to challenge the victory of APC in their respective constituencies.
In the April 11 election, APC won 24 of the 26 House of Assembly seats losing two seats to the opposition PDP.
