Ekitis task Fayose on good governance

Ekiti for Good Governance, a non-political organisation, has called on Governor Ayodele Fayose to address the hardship Ekiti residents  are going through.

The group in  a statement by its Chairman, Wale Ogunlola, in Ado Ekiti, said the call became necessary following “the unfortunate response and comments by Governor Fayose and his spokesperson, Mr Idowu Adelusi, when  former governor of the state, Engr. Segun Oni, expressed his opinion about the current situation in Ekiti”.

Ogunlola went on: “For the avoidance of doubt and whether they like it or not, Segun Oni is still the very best governor Ekiti State has ever had. He was very considerate, prudent and never allowed power to rule his head but remained cool, focused and believed in merit and service to his people. Apart from promoting the rule of law as a well disciplined public officer, he was never engaged in the deceitful, wasteful or engaged in corruptible lively hood as being witnessed among his peers.

“Distorting facts is to making people to believe that Engr. Segun Oni has not won any election in his life. Apart from securing his party ticket, he has won elections several times in Ekiti State,

including when Fayose committed anti-party by joining hands with Fayemi.

Contrary to the opinion that Fayose is popular among Ekiti people, the way and manner he won his 2003 election is still very fresh in our memory or how else do someone demonstrate rejection within some few years being the governor of the state that he contested and lost his senatorial ambition under the platform of Labour party? Were it not for the bad governance prevailing, how could a person like him with his antecedents have won  in his second coming.
