Ben-Efe
In a time when every artiste wants to blend in and do the predictable ‘club banger’ kind of music, Ben Efe has chosen a different path, which is very much like soul of old and he captures the whole essence in his debut album Bad note to melody.
Each song in his eleven-track album is laden with message and yet has a prophetic feel to it.
When you listen to him, the first impression that comes on is that you are listening to a gospel music, with a heart and soul of a soul music of the 80s but it is much more than that.
He might not be gifted with the melodious voice of 2face or the sonorous pitch of Waje, he makes up for all these with the depth of his lyrics and the sound quality of his songs.
Apart from the general soul underbelly of his style, there is to be found in them traces of funk, soft rock and RnB with an inspirational pitch.
Songs like I will be gone, Fly and Glory have a tendency to make a sparkling impression on the listener
According to him:”Life is sweet but time is a thief. We have hopes and dreams which we pursue with the aim of finding our place in life. Through the hardship, through the pain, in times of sorrow, the delight of knowing that God is working with you, compensates for all that the circle of life has and can throw at you.
These songs are a reflection of all that trek through life and I thank God for all the wonderful testimonies in my life”
