TECHNOLOGY Distributions, TD, has unveiled plans to boost the operational capacity of Small and Medium ICT enterprises(SMEs) through a partnership programme which will provide access to a suite of business support initiatives for the beneficiaries. The support initiatives include financial management guide, mentoring sessions, business intelligence and credit facilities, among others.
The initiative is said to be in line with TD’s desire to cushion the harsh effects of the contemporary business environment on SMEs and provide a platform for the sector to thrive and contribute to the growth of the Nigerian economy. Explaining reasons behind the initiative, Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mrs. Chioma Ekeh said that “these are indeed tough times and the harsh operating environment is likely to impact more on small scale businesses.
Access to funding is even more difficult now as banks are more skeptical about granting loans. This is why we have decided to help provide a way out for these businesses. “The role of small and medium scale businesses in the growth of any economy cannot be over-emphasized. This sector holds the key to generating wealth for the greater number of Nigerians and it is in line with these realities that we have decided to partner with them and empower them.
