CALABAR— ELECTIONS were inconclusive in two state House of Assembly seats in Cross River State, even as the All Progressives Congress, APC, only member in the Assembly lost his seat in the result announced, yesterday, by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Sylvester Ezeani.
Ezeani said the elections were cancelled in four polling units in Mkpani Ward in Yakurr Local Government Area, where two persons lost their lives in electoral violence during the elections on Saturday while in Biakpan, Biase Local Government Area, the results in the entire units of the ward were cancelled following the snatching of ballot papers and thumb printing of same which were rejected by the Retuning Officer.
The REC said the results of the units cancelled could swing the outcome of the election to either the Labour Party, LP, candidate or the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, contestants.
