ABUJA – President-Elect, Mohammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha have just cast their ballots in the ongoing Governorship and House of Assembly polls.

They had earlier in the morning at about 8:30am been accredited.

Accreditation exercise at the Kofar Baru “3” in Sarkin Yara “A” ward polling unit, Daura Local Government Area where the would-be first family of Nigeria voted ended at 2:38 pm.

The number of accredited voters at the unit of 744 registered voters was 459 as against 502 recorded on March 28 presidential elections.

Though Buhari who was chauffeur driven in a convoy of about 7 vehicles including those of the security team did not speak to the press, he however acknowledged cheers from people.

It will be recalled that he had earlier in the morning hailed INEC for an improved electoral process especially on the function of the card ready technology which showed no malfunctioning.

He said: “From what I heard over the radio this morning, INEC has distributed election materials to polling units all over the federation so as to avoid what happened during the last elections.”

Meanwhile, Buhari is expected to hold a special session with Journalists in his Daura residence at 4:30 pm today.
