Damaturu – The National Secretary, All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Maimala Buni, has commended INEC on the improvement recorded in the use of Card Readers in the governorship and states assembly elections.
Buni in Damaturu on Saturday said that there was a significant improvement in the performance of the card reader machines compared to the hitches recorded during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
“The problems associated with finger prints were addressed and the process here has been smooth, transparent, hitch free and time saving,’’ he said.
The scribe commended the electorate, especially Internally Displaced Persons, for their perseverance and faith in democracy.
He also commended stakeholders for ensuring peaceful conduct of elections in the state.
“So far, the elections had been peaceful and every stakeholder deserve commendation for the peaceful exercise,’’ he said.
Buni expressed optimism on APC’s victory in most of the states because of the people’s faith in the party and credibility of the president-elect.
“APC will win the election in Yobe and for the first time since 1999 the state will belong to a ruling party.
“There are opportunities for the state to benefit for being in the mainstream politics of the nation and to belong to the ruling party,’’ he said. (NAN)
