Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan on November 11 declared his bid for re-election, vowing to finally defeat Boko Haram whose rise in strength during his first term has threatened the country’s sovereignty. Goodluck Support Group, GSG, Ogun State chapter, have called on Nigerians to vote en mass for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election for continuity and consolidation. State coordinator of GSG, Alhaji Sulaiman Abiola, said President Jonathan had recorded great achievements in the economy, social infrastructure, agriculture and security that qualify him for another term to consolidate on these achievements, and move the country forward.
Alhaji Abiola cited the curtailing of the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East, recovery of lost territories and the courage to organize a national conference, where the future of Nigeria was discussed, urging Nigerians to allow the President implement the outcome of the conference, when he returns for another term. He said President Jonathan’s re-election would ensure continuity, progress, tranquillity and peace, adding that Nigeria should not be taken back to the era of dictatorship and high-handedness.
