WARRI — THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Campaign Committee in Warri South Local Government Area has inaugurated its canvassers drawn from the 12 wards that made up the local government, for the March 28 and April 11 elections.

The coordinator of the committee, Ada Arenyeka, in his inaugural speech, urged the canvassers to see their nomination as a call to service and stressed the need for the assignment to be diligently carried out.

His words: “I am over-joyed that President Jonathan has admirably delivered on his mandate. He enjoins canvassers to go out to the nooks and crannies of the local government area and propagate the good deeds of Mr. President, who deserves return ticket.

Continuing, he said: “Mr. President has successfully fought corruption to a standstill by strengthening the anti-graft agencies. It is to Mr. President’s credit that Nigeria’s economy is healthier today, owing to the recent re-basing, which made our economy the largest in Africa.

“Nigeria is winning the war against terrorism, the territories that were seized by Boko Haram have been captured by the Nigerian Army in collaboration with multi-national forces.” Also speaking, the Warri South PDP chairman, who is also a member of the campaign committee, Mr. Ama Agbajoh, noted with great irritation the ill-conceived campaigns of the opposition parties.

He said: “I find these campaigns to be completely ill-conceived, shameful and entirely motivated by greed, prejudice, inordinate ambition, and a desire to further lubricate the pockets of some godfathers in All Progressives Congress, APC.”
