O’tega Emerhor
A youth activist in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Elijah Idimi, has endorsed Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the governorship of Delta State, as the right choice, claiming that certain actions Chief Great Ogboru of Labour Party had taken of recent had both confounded most progressives in the state.
Addressing newsmen in Ughelli, Idimi said: “We used to think of Ogboru as one of us. How do you explain a situation whereby Ogboru is shouting ‘Jonathan’, and Jonathan himself is shouting ‘Okowa.’ You hardly hear Ogboru attacking Okowa, the candidate of his arch enemy, PDP. All he seems preoccupied with, is running down O’tega.
”Meanwhile O’tega is the only one seriously concentrating on liberating Delta State from PDP. How Ogboru’s Labour Party and Okowa’s PDP now seem to have an arrangement whereby they are both working together against O’tega, is something I cannot understand.
”Those of us who are not in powerful positions may be poor but we are not fools and we know when people are about to take us for a ride. What is happening between Ogboru and PDP is a million dollar question we are still cracking our heads to understand.”
Idimi declared that he was switching his support to O’tega because he has been consistently against PDP and therefore represented the hope of the common people of the state.
According to him: “As for Okowa, I cannot vote for a man who has been part and parcel of the PDP which has completely disappointed us for the past eight years.”
