Port Harcourt – The Management of Dolphins Football Club of Port Harcourt, on Friday, commiserated with Kano Pillars FC over their robbery on their way to play a match in Owerri on March 5.

Mr Joe Johnson, the General Manager of Dolphins, said in a statement on Friday that they wished the injured footballers quick recovery.
The statement said it was regrettable that five footballers were injured in the robbery.

“It is a sad development, a really sad one but in all, we thank God that there were no fatalities.

“Our prayer now is for the players to recover physically and for the team to recover emotionally because they have their lives to live as well as three competitions to play this season.

“We pray for their families to be strong this period too”, Joe Johnson said.
Johnson urged highway patrol officials to be more vigilant, to save the lives of Nigerians using the highways.

Kano Pillars, the league defending champions, were billed to play against Heartland of Owerri on March 7.

Their vehicle was attacked by gunmen on the Abaji-Lokoja road, leaving five players injured.
