UGHELLI—Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has alleged that there was a plot by one of the political parties in the state to recruit staff into the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the March 28 and April 11 general elections.
Speaking to Vanguard, state Deputy Chairman of the party, Chief Cyril Ogodo, while drumming up support for the use of card readers in the elections, said the party has petitioned INEC on the recruitment plot.
He said: “While the APC would continue to pledge its support to INEC and its Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, the commission should also note that there are plans by a political party in the state to recruit Presiding Officers and other adhoc staff through the use of fake admission letters from certain universities in the country.
“INEC should ensure that they x-ray the results of persons applying for various positions as adhoc staff to checkmate any form of electoral irregularity.”
