PORT HARCOURT—Three days after the brutal assassination of six youths at Oroworoko in D-Line area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the commu-nity is still in mourning.

Former Chairman of the community, who gave his name as Sunny, said the ugly incident had no link with the political differences between Peoples Demo-cratic Party, PDP, and All Progressive congress, APC.

He said the incident, which led to the death of two of his relatives, was entirely cult-related.

He said: “It was not political. If anybody said it was political, the person got it wrong. It was cult related.”

Vanguard gathered that some of those who died were not cultists.

According to Mr. Welinda Wosu, elder brother of Thomas Wosu, who lost his life that Saturday, his late brother, Thomas was standing on the family land, when the gunmen stormed the place shooting indiscriminately.

He said his late younger brother attended a  traditional wedding of a family member in the community, adding that he left the place at the end of the ceremony for the place where he met his untimely death.

Welinda said his late brother was an artisan.

Pointing at a work shop, Welinda said his late brother combined private practice at the workshop with being a staff of a building firm in Port Harcourt.
