
Echiejile
Elderson Echiejile expressed his joy at Monaco’s qualification for the quarter- finals of the UEFA Champions League despite losing the second leg tie 2 – 0 at Louis II Stadium on Tuesday night.
With the principality side on the brink of crashing out of the competition, manager Leonardo Jardim introduced the Nigeria fullback in the 85th minute in order to solidify the defense. Delighted that the French side went through to the last eighth on the back of their 3 – 1 win at the Emirates, Echiejile has urged his teammates to keep their concentration on the next games in Ligue 1 and the quarter-finals.
‘’For us it was important to make it through to the next round. It’s now time to get focused on other task(s) ahead.

The 27 – year – old has appeared three times in the Champions League this season, with 185 minutes of playing time under his belt.
Elderson Echiejile has been omitted from the Super Eagles provisional squad for the upcoming friendly against South Africa.
